You can find the below Financial Year End Activities related to SAP MM Module.

Here are the critical activities for the SAP MM Module to ensure a smooth transition:

1. Open Purchase Orders: Identify all pending Goods Receipts (GR) intended for the current year.
   • T-Code: ME2N (Selection Parameters: WE101)
2. Physical Inventory: Review and clear all open Physical Inventory documents.
   • T-Code: MI24/MI22
3. Subcontracting Monitor: Check for pending subcontracting components and receipts that should be finalized this year.
   • T-Code: ME2N / ME2o
4. Goods Movement Reconciliation: Ensure all planned goods movements are posted before year-end.
   • T-Code: MB51/MR11/ME2N
5. Valuation class updates: This is the time when business updates the valuation classes of Materials in case of any such requirement. Required prerequisites of clearing stock, open documents etc. must be followed to achieve the same.
   • T-Code: MB51/MR11/ME2N
6. Price update for Materials: This happens mainly for materials with moving average price. If the current MAP is far from the actual price, business can update the price which will generate the accounting document related to material revaluation.
   • T-Code: MR21

Pro-Tip on Number Ranges: > While PR, Contract, and PO number ranges are generally not year-specific, always verify if the current range is nearing exhaustion. If it is, increase the interval to prevent “document number overflow” errors during new creations.

Note for India (April–March Fiscal Year): Since inventory and invoice receipt number ranges are usually maintained in December, MM-side maintenance is minimal at this time.

A Note on Integration: Activities like MM Period Closing (MMPV) and GR/IR Clearing (MR11) are typically handled by the Finance (FI) team, but MM consultants should coordinate closely to ensure data integrity.
