In this blog, I am going to share the linkage of Inbound Delivery and Outbound Delivery types with respective Purchase orders and Sales orders.

1. Sales Order Document Type – Outbound Delivery Type:  In the maintain Sales Order Type configuration, you need to assign relevant Outbound Delivery Type. You can do the same with the below configuration.

SPRO – SAP Reference IMG –> Sales and Distribution –> Sales –> Sales Documents –> Define Sales Document Types.

Here you select the respective Sales Document type and assign the Delivery type under Shipping category.

2. Stock Transport Order Document Type – Outbound Delivery Type:  During the process of setup Stock Transport order, you need to assign relevant Outbound Delivery Type. You can do the same with the below configuration.

SPRO – SAP Reference IMG –> Materials Management –> Purchasing –> Purchase Order –>Set up Stock Transport Order –>Configure Delivery Type & Availability Check Procedure by Plant

Here you slect the respective STO Document type and assign the Delivery type along with the Supplying Plant and Checking Rule.

3. Purchase Order Document type – Inbound Delivery type:  Confirmation control key is assigned to the Purchase Order under confirmations tab. It can be given manually in PO or else it can be updated automatically from Purchase Info record or Vendor Master.

3.1 Define Setup confirmation control: In this configuration, you will link the confirmation control with the confirmation control key.

SPRO – SAP Reference IMG –> Materials Management –> Purchasing –> Confirmations –> Setup Confirmation Control

Select the confirmation key and click on Confirmation sequence to see the list of Confirmation categories assigned to the confirmation control key

3.2 Define Internal Confirmation Categories: In this configuration, you will link the confirmation category with the Inbound Delivery Type.

SPRO – SAP Reference IMG –> Materials Management –> Purchasing –> Confirmations –> Define Internal Confirmation Categories
